Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned golfer, you’ve probably heard of custom club fittings. A club fitting can give you precise measurements to ensure your clubs fit your swing, physical build, and playing style. Scheduling a fitting can feel overwhelming—especially if you’re unsure when it’s best to get one. Ideally, you should have a solid understanding of your stance, swing, and general play style before diving into a fitting. Once you’re at that point, a fitting can be transformative, helping you get the most out of your equipment and make every round more enjoyable.
Important Things to Note
A professional fitting should include a detailed analysis of the following factors:
Lie Angle – This measures the club’s sole angle at impact, affecting shot accuracy.
Body Measurements – Both static measurements - including height, wrist-to-floor distance, and wingspan - and dynamic swing measurements to determine club length.
Face Angle – Captures the club face angle at impact, critical for accuracy.
Striking Center – Indicates how consistently you hit the center of the clubface.
Using these metrics, your fitter can identify adjustments to make your clubs fit comfortably and perform optimally.
What Should You Expect at a Fitting?
Most fittings take between 1-4 hours, so come prepared with answers to a few essential questions: What is your budget? What’s your typical score and handicap? Bringing your current clubs will help your fitter create a baseline before analyzing your swing data. Expect tests to capture data on distance, launch angle, speed, and spin.
After the analysis, your fitter will discuss the results, guiding you through recommendations on everything from grip size to shaft stiffness and even club weight. Custom add-ons, finishes, and other design options may also be available, allowing you to personalize your set further.

What technology do you use to fit?
At Golfstix Studio, we leverage a top-of-the-line TrackMan IO launch monitor. TrackMan uses radar and high-speed cameras to track the ball’s flight, spin rate, launch angle, club path and more. This data allows us to pinpoint where adjustments can improve accuracy, distance, and control. During a fitting, TrackMan’s real-time metrics help our fitters fine-tune each club's specifications to your unique swing, ensuring every shot feels balanced and consistent. By analyzing data like ball speed, attack angle, and face angle, TrackMan takes the guesswork out of fitting, enabling us to provide a truly customized experience that translates to noticeable improvements on the course.
